Janice Buchanan-McLean is the founder and Managing Proprietor of the Law Offices of J. Buchanan-McLean. Mrs. Buchanan-Mclean is an accomplished Attorney with over 10 years experience in the areas of Real Estate/Property Law, Estate Matters, Family Law and contract Law. Over the course of her career she has successfully solved complex land law issues for a wide range of clients, including obtaining land titles for clients who had previously exhausted all options, resulting in high level client satisfaction. She achieves the desired results for her clients due to her passion for the law and for fulfilling the needs of her clients.
Janice Buchanan-McLean holds a Master of Laws Degree (L.L.M.) in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, a Legal Education Certificate (L.E.C.) from the Norman Manley Law School, a Bachelor of Laws degree (L.L.B), from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados and a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A) in English Literature from the University of the West Indies, Mona, where she graduated in with honours (Upper Second Class).
Mrs. Buchanan-McLean Prior to entering private practice, she served the Jamaican Government in the capacity of a Legal Officer/Attorney-at-Law/Legal Counsel at the National Land Agency (Titles Office),the Housing Agency of Jamaica Limited (HAJ) and the National Housing Trust (NHT).
Whilst in the employ of the Government service, she acquired a wealth of experience in the various methods of obtaining Land Title including splinter titles for housing developments and other areas of Property Law. She has successfully prepared Cabinet Submissions for and on behalf of HAJ for the Compulsory Acquisition of lands being sought by the Government.
Her sojourn as a lawyer had its early roots at the Titles Office where she acquired essential skills and competence in Land Title matters. At the Titles office she registered Instruments of Transfers, Mortgages, Transmission Applications, Court Orders, Notations of Death and Marriage, Caveats and Powers of Attorney. She also registered New Certificates of Title arising from Splinter Titles, Lost Title Applications, Applications to bring land under the Registration of Titles Act and Strata Titles.
She provided legal advice to Attorneys-at- Law and other external customers regarding land title matters. Her aim is to find a way to resolve your challenging Land, Estate, Family and Contract issues.

KAWAYNE HENRY, L.L.B.
Kawayne graduated from the University of the West Indies in 2014 with a Bachelor of Law Degree with Honors. She was later admitted to the Norman Manley Law School where she completed her studies and obtained her Legal Education Certificate.
Kawayne was admitted to practice in Jamaica in December 2016. She is currently a member of the Jamaica Bar Association and the Rotaract Club of Liguanea Plains.
Kawayne has been with the firm for over a year where she commenced legal training as a Law Intern. Throughout her time with the firm, she has gained notable experience in handling civil cases in particularly matters involving Real Estate, Family and Probate and Administration.
